The new IMS MINI - 200 is a portable multi-gas detector for the high-sensitive detection and identification of toxic industrial chemicals (TIC) and/or chemical warfare agents (CWA) developed by IUT. It is best suitable for the use in homeland security. It is an ion mobility spectrometer (IMS) with high sensitivity in the lower ppb-range and high resolution. The portable and user-friendly IMS MINI - 200 is part of the new generation IMS-family of IUT.
With this trace-gas analyzer toxic gases can be detected and identified without any enrichment directly in situ already as a very low concentration level. The detection including sampling and identification process takes few seconds. It can be operated either in manual or in automatic detection modus. Detection in negative as well as in positive modus and the automatic change during detection is possible. The housing fulfills the Protection Rating IP55 and is therefore best suitable for the mobile use outside also by rain and dust. The connections of the device are hidden at the corners and easily accessible via fold-away access-covers.
Compared with other systems the IMS MINI - 200 has the advantage to operate under atmospheric pressure and no additional carrier gas is required. This makes it best suitable for mobile applications for on-site measurements in homeland security as well as for environmental monitoring and industrial applications. The powerful rechargeable battery offers an optimal mobile use.

TECHNICAL DATAFor more than 15 years the IUT is developing and producing high-sensitive gas detection system especially for the detection and identification of toxic industrial compounds (TICs) and chemical warfare agents (CWA). With the new IMS MINI -200 a portable system can be offered which fits in the application fields of terrorism prevention and homeland security as well as in the general area of NBC rather CBRNE defense. The IMS MINI- 200 can be used in vehicle based systems like the NBC inspection vehicles of civil defense, of fire brigades and of technical task forces. They use the IMS MINI - 200 as portable device for field works as well as vehicle mounted devices. Beside the homeland security the IMS MINI - 200 is also suitable for application in environmental monitoring, safety at works, semiconductor production and many others fields.
