My lady of the Chinese courtyard, by Elizabeth Cooper ... with thirty-one illustrations in duotone from photographs.
What I do and what I dream include thee, as the wine must taste of its own grapes。 《金莲》的扉页里,则换上了中国谚语:小脚一双,眼泪一筐(“For every pair of golden lilies there is a kang of tears”)。
She wrote many books including Living up to Billy, My Lady of the Chinese courtyard, My lady of Indian purdah, The women of Egypt, Drusilla with a Million, and more. Most were published in New York by Freserick A. Stokes Company from around 1914.
