如果要描述过去发生的动作

有几种时态可以使用呢？

Use 'used to' for situations in the past and use 'would' for regular activities in the past. 

e.g. English grandma used to make fortune-telling cakes. She would mix little objects into the cake. (from All Kinds of Birthdays)

My cousins ?used to come over for Sunday dinner. We would crawl under the table and we had a lot of fun.

a) used to和would的相同点 

• 'would' expresses that an activity was routine, typical behavior, frequently repeated.

• 'used to' expresses that an activity was a past habit. It focuses on the habit, not duration or frequency.

  
  

比较：We would go to the beach after school.

We used to go to the beach after school.

b) used to和would的不同点

• 'used to' can refer to past states: being, possession, mind, and major, unbreakable habits. 

e.g. He used to have a lovely pet dog. (possession)

She used to bite her finger nails. (major habit, doesn't do it now, earlier stage of life)
