There are several issues you should know about. First is thelevel of steel imports that this government has allowed. Not onlydoes the bankruptcy of 19 steel companies in the past three yearsaffect their employees, but all the people who work in thesteel-dependent industries around them.
Because of several policies such as the North American FreeTrade Agreement, the U.S. manufacturing base has been depleted.Service jobs, for the most part, do not pay enough to raise afamily. Over the past 225 years, ours has become a government forthe wealthy people. Numerous manufacturing sectors have asked forhelp and have not received any.
Even without a steel crisis, the cost of doing business has beensignificantly increased by the high cost of natural gas andgasoline.
Someone must think the American people are idiots to believethat the cost to produce gasoline has risen so much to justifythese prices while the oil companies are making record profits.
America was founded for reasons such as taxation withoutrepresentation.
We may have representation in the government, but it does notlook out for the interests of the middle class.
