此件成化釉里红龙纹天字罐高13cm、盖高2.4cm口径8.1cm腹径13cm底径11cm胎体轻薄、短颈、大口、圆肩、腹部收敛、广底、圈足,底部以钴料书写一个“天”字,施釉自然、造型大气磅礴,器体有多处氧化铜绿锈斑,锈斑自然。釉里红是传统瓷器中烧制难度大,成品率低。以氧化铜作着色剂,在胎上绘画纹饰后,罩施透明釉,在1350℃以上的高温中烧成。因红花纹在釉下,所以称为釉里红。釉里红的出现,使中国绘画技术与工艺制造结合的日趋成熟,将彩瓷发展到了一个新的阶段。经专家鉴定为明成化年间稀世臻品。
