法律英语中的常见连词和助动词

一般出现在英文合同中表示“替代”的意思相当于基础英语中的 in place of, instead注意：法律英语中不用in palce of 或者instead表示代替

表权利 have the right to do, be entitled to do, be authorized to do, be empowered to do, may, at one’s option to, at one's liberty, at one's discretion, enable sb do;

表义务 have obligation to do, bind upon, shall, subject to, be required to do, be obligated to do, be compulsory to do

表前提  if, in case, in the event, where, save, when, once, should, assume, under the condition that, provided that, in consideration;

表例外 except, unless, but, however, absent that，with the exception of, save for；save as to

表过去 formerly；previously

观点拓展 besides, furthermore

表对立 on the other hand；conversely

表总结 short；in summary；by way of precis， as a consequence；consequently；as a result

表强调 in particular；especially；it should be stressed that

表限定 however；it should also be borne in mind that

表逻辑前进 therefore；thus, it follows that

表开始 firstly；to begin with
