这句话几乎是家喻户晓的话，

中文里“三人”有着特殊的意义

那么“三个人”的英文是什么呢

'people'和“person”的区别

① 

person 是个体名词，复数形式 persons，

人们习惯用 people 替换 persons.

people 是一个集合名词，

所以说一个人的时候，不用people，

当表示两个以上的人的时候，就需要用 people 了。

people 作为 ”人“ 的时候，people 只作为复数；

只有当 people 代表 ”民族“ 的时候，才可以有 peoples.

所以，根据以上总结，大家应该可以得出结论了吧？

总结：

people 指一群人、某群人，范围更广

而 person 通常特指“某个人”，具有指定性

所以

“三个人”更自然的说法

If you are a morning person you should study in the morning and relax at night.

与之相对应的就是：

night person

喜欢熬夜的人、夜猫子。

I find it well hard to get up in the mornings, I’m a night person.
