In the north-western Indian Ocean, 220 miles off the Yemeni mainland is located the island of Socotra. The island lenght is about 133 km and the width — about 42 kilometers.
Socotra is known for its unique flora and fauna: in fact 30% of the plants growing on the island, for example, cucumber tree, Dracaena Cinnabari, you will not find anywhere else in the world. It is for this reason that the island of Socotra is listed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
