1 Be confident, aggressive and express yourself
I was hired as a tax guy in a law firm. I speak better Chinese, lived in Beijing and understand the Chinese way. I worked for many many years in London。
2。Take the risk and make tough decisions. In a Shanghai deal, I went over the lines of my profession as a legal advisor and made a tough decision during negotiation. Basically threatened to call the deal off if the terms I proposed were not accepted. It things went back, that is malpractice and I will lose my job. Well it worked out well. The client realized that I am not the day to day lawyer and asked me to join.
among the peers I am a Britain. Since I can’t speak Cantonese or understand it,every meeting or conference has to be switched to English if I participate.
If a deal is difficult, let others give it a try and then come to the rescue. 在对外面的公司的交往中,when sell the team, sell yourself as well.
5. Get the job done. 细节上要注意, 把要作的get it done without being told 是对省级就有用的。
