The problem I had with this movie is thatit packed too much story in little time. A series would have been a lot betterwhere the story builds up slowly and we get to know more about the characters.The whole thing felt rushed. The fantasy landscapes were very nice though, muchbetter than Hobbit/LotR.
这部电影不好的地方在于那么短的时间塞入了那么多内容。如果是系列电影的话会更好，这样故事可以慢慢展开，我们也能更多的理解里面的人物。所以这部电影感觉太匆忙了。里面的风景倒是很漂亮，比霍比特人/指环王好多了。

I saw this yesterday as part of a mixedgroup of (former) players and non-players.
The players really enjoyed it. Thenon-players were...nonplussed.
Comparisons to The Hobbit don't stand, inmy opinion-while The Hobbit was bloated with third-rate filler material, thefault here was trying to pack too much in. As a non-player, I just didn't havethe time to start caring about anybody in between failing to learn all the names.
It was obviously made with love for thematerial, and it wasn't dreadful. But definitely one for the existing fans.
我昨天和一群人看了这部电影，其中有的是以前的魔兽玩家，有的从没玩过。
玩家倒是很喜欢这部电影，而没玩过的人则感到迷惑。
我觉得和霍比特人没有可比性，虽然霍比特人内容不怎么样，但是魔兽这部电影塞入了太多内容。作为一个没玩过魔兽的人，里面的人物让我一头雾水，他们的名字我都没记住。
这部电影的内容充满了爱，而且也没那么糟糕。对于魔兽玩家来说绝对是不错的电影。

20 years ago Warcraft 1 and 2 were verypopular in China. My mate and I (foreign students) used to play all nightsometimes at gaming cafes which were packed and every second person playingwarcraft. This was well before world of warcraft.

The next transformers probably, lots ofaction, low on plot and acting. I would also add warcraft is big in china whereas the hype has pretty much died in western countries.
有点像《变形金刚》，有很多动作戏，但是情节和演技较弱。还有这部电影在中国引发极大关注，而在西方国家几乎没有什么宣传。

Aren't a lot of big-budget Hollywood filmsaimed at the Chinese market now? I think this goes part way in explaining theswathe of critically-mauled CGI nonsense that has made lots of money over thelast couple of years

I think it might be better to say that asignificant amount of movies are made with the Chinese market in mind, i.e.they don't want to put anything in the movie that might upset Chinese censors.
However, I think there is a differencebetween Warcraft appealing to Chinese market, because the game it's based on isvery popular there (interesting titbit, they removed all the skeletons in thecomputer game version), and say some of the other big action films, eg theTransformer films, which seems to pander to the Chinese market (how Chineseofficials appear, cameos, product placement, etc..).
可以这么说，现在好多电影都瞄准中国市场，所以他们可不想在电影里加入会惹怒中国审查人员的内容。
然而，这部电影之所以受中国人欢迎，主要是因为这部游戏在中国有很多玩家（还有一个趣事，这部游戏里其实是有很多骷髅的，但是都被中国的审查人员祛除掉了）。所以和《变形金刚》的受欢迎还是有所不同的，《变形金刚》貌似都在迎合中国市场（比如中国官员如何出场，里面的配角，产品布置等等细节）。
