Another election day in portugal. We'll be having our 3rd election this year: local elections now, Prime Minister elections two weeks ago and European Parliament elections not long ago.
Unfortunately, in Portugal there's always a big percentage of abstention. Everyone says politicians are incompetent, a gang of thieves, but when they have the power to judge them they decide not to. In fact, during Obama elections, everyone talked about then as if they were our own elections. But, when we try to speak a litle bit about our own elections, people try to avoid the topic or think there's no need to waste time talking about them since «politicians are all the same». I agree American Presidential elections are important, but I believe it's more important to care about what is happening in our country. This is why I can't understand why so many people don't care about choosing the people that will lead us for years to come.
I hope democracy wins today once more.....
