Patricia Piccinini – Australian sculptor and painter in the genre biopank. Her works, made of various materials, including a series of “Unnecessary children” and “We are family”, represented Australia at the Venice Biennale in 2003. She is interested in different kinds of art: painting, sculpture, installation, video, audio and digital printing. Her major artworks often reflect her interest in bioethics, biotechnologies and the environment. Her work has gained extensive international recognition. Piccinini likes to explore what she usually calls “are often plausible differences between artificial and real.” She changed our classification of life, showing the relationship and differences between organic, present, and we created the material world.
