白俄罗斯共和国（英语：The Republic of Belarus），简称白俄罗斯，位于东欧平原西部，东邻俄罗斯，北、西北与拉脱维亚和立陶宛交界，西与波兰毗邻，南与乌克兰接壤。大部分人口居住在首都明斯克等大城市附近，白俄罗斯语和俄罗斯语被设为官方语言。
白俄罗斯被称为独联体各国中“最像苏联”的国家，这里至今仍保留着大量苏联时期的政治传统、社会制度与机构设置。白俄罗斯还保留了苏联时期“均贫富”的社会福利制度：所有公民享受免费医疗，教育方面，除了中小学教育全部免费外，就连大学里也有一半的系是免费的。在白俄罗斯，由于政府将每年财政收入的2/3用于福利和社会保障，因此老百姓日常生活所必需的住房、水电、煤气、供暖等费用都很低廉。
白俄罗斯水资源丰富，享有“万湖之国”美誉，是一个拥有美丽的自然风光，清洁空气及热情好客人民的国家，境内以湖泊、河流及茂密的森林著称，夏季凉爽，秋季落叶金黄，冬季白雪皑皑。
首都明斯克位于白俄罗斯中部，是全国的政治、经济和文化中心。第二次世界大战中几乎被夷为平地，战后重建并成为白俄罗斯重要工业中心。明斯克拥有多个高等院校，包括白俄罗斯国家大学，此外还有著名的马戏团、歌剧院和芭蕾舞院等。明斯克的胜利广场，座落于市中心，广场上矗立着伟大卫国战争阵亡烈士纪念碑，高40米，碑身底部四面镶嵌大型金属浮雕群，表现白俄罗斯军民英勇抗敌的战斗历程，碑身前有体现烈士不朽精神的长明火，到访的外国领导人一般都要来此瞻仰。主干道是以白俄罗斯诗人命名的斯科里纳大街长达11公里。伟大卫国战争历史国家博物馆，位于明斯克市共和国宫左侧，是白俄罗斯最大、收藏品最多的一座卫国战争纪念馆。
白俄罗斯首都明斯克拥有时尚的咖啡馆、博物馆、餐厅和夜总会，夜生活繁华，斯大林时代的建筑也令人印象深刻。明斯克也已成为全球峰会和体育赛事（例如2019年欧洲运动会）的枢纽。

Hello from Republic of Belarus 🙂
Sunday September 13th, 2020, I joined thousands of Belarusians in their protest for the "March of Heroes" demonstration against President Alexander Lukashenko, who has been in power for 26 years. The most recent election was proven to be rigged and Belarusians have since engaged in mass protests, which are usually cracked down on by security forces.
Long regarded by travellers as little more than a curiosity, Belarus has suddenly emerged as one of Europe’s ‘it’ destinations. Fuelling that rise are relaxed visa requirements, a sneaky-good art and cafe scene, and hospitable locals. While political dissent remains muted, the country seems to be having fun again.
The capital city of Belarus Minsk will almost certainly surprise you. It is, contrary to its dreary reputation, a progressive, modern and clean place. Fashionable cafes, impressive restaurants and crowded nightclubs vie for your attention, while sushi bars and art galleries have taken up residence in a city center once totally remodelled to the tastes of Stalin. Despite the strong police presence and obedient citizenry, Minsk is a thoroughly pleasant place that's easy to become fond of.
Minsk has a pulsing nightlife, excellent museums and an impressive ensemble of Stalin-era architecture. Minsk has also become a hub for global summits and sporting events such as the 2019 European Games.
Razed to the ground in WWII, Minsk has precious few buildings remaining from the pre-war years, and there are relatively few traditional sights in the city, save a clutch of worthwhile museums. Instead, there are myriad places of interest to anyone fascinated by the Soviet and Lukashenko periods and a wealth of cosmopolitan pursuits to keep you entertained come evening.
