Speeches in universities have become outlets for sharing some of the most important life lessons ever. You’ll probably recognize most of the speakers, who are prominent people in their fields – people like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Obama, Michelle, Randy Pausch, JK Rowling, and so on. I think the schools couldn’t have picked better speakers than them, because the most important inspiration anyone can ever get is someone who is living by example. Today I want to share three inspiring and powerful speeches for you and all of you can enjoy the rich insights of the speakers.
1) Steve Jobs, Stanford University, 2005
Your time is limited, sodon’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which isliving with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise ofothers’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have thecourage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what youtruly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
2) Barack Obama, Wakefield High School, 2009
Where you are right now doesn’t have to determinewhere you’ll end up.
whateveryou resolve to do, I want you to commit to it.
These people succeeded because they understood that you can’t let your failuresdefine you -- you have to let your failures teach you.
3) Michelle Obama, Stanford Center at Peking University, 2014
It's better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books.
we believe that relationships between nations aren’t just about relationships between governments or leaders -- they’re about relationships between people, particularly young people.
