口语要素001:重音与语调

很多学生反馈说即使每天有听BBC,VOA,CNN,但是发现听力提升不明显,因为没有搞清楚中文与英文的发音差别,中文每个字的发音是四声之一,字的发音与其在句子中的发音一致,而英语单词的发音与其在句子中的发音还不太一样,有连读与略读的地方,总体上来说英文的语速是中文的两三倍,遇到老外说一连串子英文,一时反应不过来。所以为了提高听力与口语发音,我们接下来学习重音,语调,以及连读略读。(需要复习前面基础语音教程的同学,可以点击阅读原文查看)

意群划分

Reading aloud|is very important|for beginners.

Early to bed|and early to rise|makes a man|healthy, happy, and wise.

Jane, |who’s a brilliant swimmer,|represented Britain|at the Olympic Games.

After he took his bath, |he dressed in a hurry,|ran to catch the bus,|and got to his appointment|before it was too late.

重音:

What’s the ’matter?

The‘sweater is ’beautiful.

Your ‘book is on the ’desk.

He ‘started ’counting it.

He ‘usually ’gets up at ‘six o’clock.

Are you ‘angry with me? (正常句子重音格式)

Are you ‘angry with ‘me?(你是生我的气吗?)

Are ‘you ‘angry with me?(跟我生气的是你吗?)

Did you tell my‘ wife? (强调“wife“,not “mysister”)

Did you tell ‘my wife? (强调my, not his)

Did ‘you tell my’wife? (强调you, not he )

We ‘heard ’Join ‘talking. (正常句子重音格式)

We ‘heard Join talking. (强调heard, not saw)

We heard ‘Join talking. (强调you , not he)

语调:

1、降调

(1)用于陈述句,如:

I have already read that book.

那本书我已经读过了。

That street is two miles long.

那条街有两英里长。

(2)用于特殊疑问句,如:

What has happened to him?

他出什么事了?

Which direction is it to the post office?

到邮局往哪个方向走?

注意:特殊疑问句有时可用升调表示请别人重复刚说过的话,例如:

What is your major?

你说你的专业是什么?

Where shall we go for the holiday?

你说我们将到哪儿度假?

(3)用于祈使句,如:

Go back to your seat!

回到你的座位上去!

Please do not hesitate to contact me.

请及时与我取得联系。

(4)用于感叹句,如:

What a small world!

这世界竟是如此之小!

Oh! My poor Mathilde, how you’ve changed!

!我可怜的马蒂尔德,你怎么变成这样了!

(5)用在选择疑问句“or”之后的部分,如:

Do you want to ride or walk?

你想坐车还是步行?

Would you like coffee or tea?

你想喝咖啡还是喝茶?

2、升调

(1)用于一般疑问句,如:

Do you mind if I sit here?

我坐这儿你介意吗?

Can you hand in your compositions today?

你们今天能交作文吗?

注意:一般疑问句有时也可以用降调,表示一种不耐烦的口气,或表示命令等,如:

Are you satisfied?

这下你可该满意了吧?

Will you take off your hat, please?

请脱帽。

(2)用于罗列中最后一项之前的各项,例如:

For each incomplete sentence, there are four choices marked

A) ↗ , B) ↗ ,C) ↗ ,and D).

对每一个不完整句子,均给出四个选项答案,他们被分别标为

A) , B) ,C),和 D).

We study Chinese ↗, history ↗, geography ↗, and English.

我们学习中文,历史,地理和英语。

(3)用于陈述句,表示疑问、怀疑、未定、猜测或期待等,例如:

You really want to do it?

你真要做这件事吗?

She might have gone.

他或许已经走了吧。

I thingk so.

我想是这样吧。

(4)用于置于句首的状语短语或者状语从句,如:

After dinner↗ , I read a magazine and made telephone calls.

晚饭后我看了一本杂志,还打了几个电话。

While you were writing letters↗ , I was reading a book.

你写信的时候我在看书。

(5) 用于并列句的第一个分句,表示句子还未说完,如:

My fever is gone , but I still have a cough.

我的烧退了,但还咳嗽。

My major is English ↗, and I like it.

我的专业是英语,我喜欢它。

(6)用于委婉祈使句,如:

Excuse me, sir. ↗ Can you help me?

打扰一下,先生,能帮帮我吗?

(7)用于称呼语,如:

Mrs. Smith ↗, this is Tom Jones.

3平调

用于直接引语后,表示话是谁说的,如:

“We are going to Florida,” she said brightly.

我们要到弗罗里达去,”她兴高采烈地说。

“How do you feel, boy?” I asked him.

你感觉怎么样,孩子?”我问他
