I'd like to talk about a time that I was really polite to someone.
It happened a couple of years ago, when Iwas still a college student. I made an appointment with my professor because Ineeded his advice for my essay. Anyway, I met him at his office in theafternoon.
But first, let me tell you something about him.
Professor Wong was in his late fifties. He looked a bit older than his age. I guess that's probably because he had read too many books. He probably is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever seen in life. I felt so lucky that he could spare some time to help me with my essay.
Anyway, I was polite to him because he's my professor. It's what I was supposed to do. Well, as a matter of fact, every chinese is taught to respect teachers at a young age. So it's not hard to do so.
Besides, if I want to get his help, I'd better show my respect.
I did it in a few ways.
First, I was there ahead of our agreed time. I waited for him outside his office because I didn't want to interrupt his work. At 4 o'clock sharp, I knocked the door.
Besides, I really cared about every word I said. I can say that every word I said to him was full of respect and admiration.
