S.Korea's top envoy to visit China for talks on DPRK nuke program

South Korea's top envoy for North Korean affairs is set to visit China this Friday to meet with his Chinese counterpart about Pyongyang's nuclear program.
Kim Hong-kyun, chief South Korean envoy for the six-party talks to denuclearize the Korean peninsula, will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei in Beijing.
Kim's visit is part of a flurry of diplomacy amid reports North Korea is likely preparing another nuclear test.
Top US envoy for North Korea, Sung Kim, is in Beijing after making a stop in Seoul to meet with South Korean and Japanese officials.
Increased activity has been reported around North Korea's main nuclear testing site in the country's northeast.
This has led to speculation Pyongyang's leadership is preparing another nuclear weapons test ahead of a key political meeting next month.

China, S. Korea to hold maritime demarcation talks

Working teams from China and South Korea are set to begin their latest round of talks on maritime boundary demarcations this Friday in Beijing.
South Korea wants the maritime border in the Yellow Sea to be drawn at the halfway point between the two nations.
The Chinese side is asking for the maritime border to be set at a distance proportionate to the length of each country's respective coastlines.
Under international law, exclusive economic zones between China and South Korea overlap in the Yellow Sea.
This has led to disputes over fishing rights in the area, some of which have turned violent.
The first set of meetings to discuss the issue was held in Seoul in December.

Officials in Taiwan say they've now been given enough evidence by authorities in Malaysia to move forward with fraud charges against the group.

Heavy rain halts rescue operations in Japan's quake hit southwest as experts warn of further jolts

Heavy rain has forced the suspension of search and rescue operations in the earthquake zone in southwestern Japan.
Japanese forecasters say thunderstorms, landslides and flooding are likely to further hamper rescue efforts in Kyushu.
Soil loosened by the quakes and the subsequent aftershocks following Thursday's initial quake is becoming loose and dangerous.
A pair of strong earthquakes last week in southwestern Japan left 48 people dead and hundreds of others injured.
Thousands are still unable to return to their homes.

It's being revealed Chinese space authorities are working on creating reusable rocket technology designs for future space launches.
Sources with the developer of China's Long March rocket series say a prototype model has been built to test theories on the reusable rocket booster's landing technologies.
No further details have been revealed.
However, Chinese space experts say they expect serious results on reuseable booster technology in the next 4-years.
The Chinese revelation follows the successful landing of a reusable rocket booster by SpaceX after its launch of supplies to the international space station earlier this month.
