Carl De Keyzer出生于1958年，1982年开始成为一名自由摄影师，并在根特皇家艺术学校当摄影课讲师以维持开销。他十分喜欢收藏更多摄影师的作品，因此和朋友共同建立了XYZ摄影画廊。
Carl De Keyzer 1990年成为玛格南候补成员，1994年正式成为其一员。他的作品经常在欧洲的画廊中展览，并赢得了不少摄影奖项，例如Arles艺术节的Book Award、Kodak Award等。
Carl De Keyzer偏好拍摄大篇幅、具有普遍意义的摄影项目，因此他的作品很少单独出现，往往会以一定量照片的组图发表，并配有翔实的文字介绍。
Carl De Keyzer的照片，乍看上去，看不出图片究竟在表达什么，但这同时也是照片本身的特制，照片的解读都是主观的片面的，因为只要试图去解读，就不可能做到绝对的客观。
这其实牵涉到一个事物本真的问题，花非花，雾非雾，我们本来对于世界的认识就是主观下的客观存在，所以在这基础之上，想要客观的分析照片所要传达的内容，是非常难以量化和客观的。
对于日常拍摄和摄影项目，这种事物本身的主观特性应该对我的启示应该是更加用力的去记录它们，去用力记录和探索照片背后的真相，哪怕稍微能捕获一点，或打开质疑的小口子，那这幅照片就是引人思考，让人会细细品味的。

On that day app. 900 people were baptised, wearing shorts and swimsuits. The 30000 spectators holding umbrellas for the hot Californian sun cheered with every new member being baptised. 1990.

The 10 meter high cross is lit by the Imperial Wizard Tom Robb from Harrison, Arkansas and burns for about 20 minutes. The KKK members salute an walk around the cross as long as it burns. 1990.
