为什么U开头的单词前面有时加a，有时加an----高考语法知识运用

上一讲我们讲了冠词的泛指、定指、量指和独指，今天简单地复习一下。我们知道学习冠词不仅是要记住什么词前面加什么冠词，还要理解什么是泛指、定指、量指和独指概念。例如：

Do you like art? 你喜欢艺术吗？（泛指）

Music is an art. 音乐是一门艺术。（量指）

Government funding for the arts has been reduced. 对艺术这类学科的投入（定指）

Fresh water is scarce in some countries. 淡水缺乏 （泛指）

The flowers want a poured water. 浇透一次水（量指）

He jumped into the water to save the boy. 跳入（落水的）水中 （定指）

下面我们做几道高考冠词真题，以巩固冠词的知识。

4. as 62.___a_____ model，作为一个模特，量指；

5.had 24.___an_____ amazing conversation，有过一次令人兴奋的交谈，量指。

最后谈谈an的用法，虽然全国卷还没考过，但也得掌握。

我们知道，不定冠词a与an在意义上没有区别，a用在辅音音素开头的单词或字母前；an用在元音音素开头的单词或字母前，而且要与后面的单词连读（连读用下划线表示）。如：

an important meeting, an elephant, an old woman, some envelopes

这与语音知识有关，要弄清楚元音音素有20个，元音字母a, e, i, o, u共5个, 其中u有两种拼读音,所以要特别注意以u开头的单词。如：

ugly, umbrella, unable, uncertain, uncle, underground, understanding, underwater, undivided, unfair, unfolded, unhealthy, unknown, unlike, unpleasant, unreserved, unrest, unsold, unsuccessful, unusual, upstairs, upward。

还有一些辅音字母也是元音音素开头，加冠词时要加an，如：
