《The Little Giraffe》

Once, there was a little giraffe.

He was the first giraffe in the world.

从前，有一只小长颈鹿。

他是世界上第一只长颈鹿。

He lived in East Africa...

...with his best friend, Rhino.

他住在东非...

…和他最好的犀牛朋友。

Every day, they looked for food.

每天，他们都在寻找食物。

But the sun was hot and the earth was dry.

'I'm hungry.'

'So am I. '

There was no food anywhere.

但是太阳火辣辣的，土地很干涸。

“我饿了。”（犀牛说）

“我也是。”（长颈鹿说）

哪里都没有食物。

So they went to see...

...the wise man.

'We're hungry. '

'Please can you help? '

所以他们去见...

...智者。

'我们饿了。'

“你能帮助我们吗？”

'Come back tomorrow, ' said the wise man.

'I'll make a magic drink for you.'

“明天再来吧，”智者说。

“我会为你们做一杯神奇的水。”

The next day,the little giraffe visited the wise man.

'Here’s the drink ! ' he said.

'Where’s Rhino ?'

The little giraffe didn’t know.

第二天，小长颈鹿来拜访智者。

“这是神奇的水！”他（智者）说。

“犀牛在哪？”

小长颈鹿不知道。

The little giraffe began to drink.

He grew taller...and taller...

'Now you can reach the leaves high in the trees,'

said the wise man.

小长颈鹿开始喝那个神奇的水。

他长得越来......越高......

'现在你可以吃到树上的叶子了，'

智者说。

Rhino had found some dry grass.

He forgot all about the wise man.

'There you are, ' said the not-so-little giraffe.

'What happened to you? '

犀牛发现了一些干草。

他把智者的事抛在了脑后。

“你在这啊，”不再是那么小的长颈鹿说。

“发生了什么？”

'I drank the magic drink, ' he said to Rhino.

'Where’s mine? '

There was no magic drink left.

Rhino was stuck with dry grass.

“我喝了神奇的水，”他对犀牛说。

“那我的呢？”（犀牛说）

没有剩下神奇的水。

犀牛被干草缠住了。

He was angry with the giraffe and the wise man.

And he was angry with himself.

He’s still angry today.

他非常生长颈鹿和智者的气。

同时他也生自己的气。

今天，他仍然很生气。
