Other game was game 2 of the 1993 Finals. Both Jordan and Barkley scored 42 pts.

Wow crazy. I happened to watch both of these games live at very different points in my life.

Phoenix/Bulls was the first Finals I remember really watching and getting caught up with the drama. I obviously knew who Jordan was at this point, but the new challenger underdog in Barkley really allured me. He was no Jordan but for a big guy he could move around like he did.

What stands out the most is how much peer pressure there was to root for the Sun's. Excluding bulls and bandwagon NBA fans, everyone hated Jordan. He was an asshole who bullied his way to victories. Also I think it was just a little boring to see him win all the time. Its easy to forget but 'we' all 'hated' Jordan much the way we do now to Lebron or Kobe not long ago.

Its interesting Kobe is now entering into historical loved stage of his career; now that he's retired the LakerHaters are allowed to show him respect.
