比较平行结构
A:price are higher this year & price are higher last year平行
B: OVER用法错误，应该用than
C: this year 和 last year’s 不平行; did 跟 are 不对等;
D: It is the expectation啰嗦 ，能用动词表达，就不用 名词;over用法错误。
E: It is expected that 不简洁;this year 和 last year’s 不平行; more的位置不能随意改变，应该紧跟barral
当前版本由 01Z**** 更新于2015-11-22 14:24:14感谢由 01Z**** 对此题目的解答所做出的贡献。 主语prices，谓语are 谓语are expected，原文有两个than，一个是主句的比较，一个是because从句里的内容的比较。主句中是状语的比较，比较结构完整。从句的谓语是are paying，than后面谓语的省略为were，完全正确，因为than后有last year的限定，所以首先是和前面的谓语一直，留下被动语态助动词be，其次得考虑last year这个事态，所以是were。

B选项主句有higher比较级，但是没有than，固定用法错误。C选项last year’s 应该是省略后面的名词了，一般than后面出现省略名词，那么省略的名词指代的是主语。所以这句话语义上称了今年的expectations和去年的expectations比较了，违背原文语义。D选项和B选项有同样的固定用法错误。E选项 显然没有A选项简洁。
