“laundry” 指“洗衣店，洗衣房，要洗的衣物”。

比如《老友记》、《生活大爆炸》等一些美剧中，可以看到剧中人物带着大量的衣物到洗衣店里清洗，这种公用洗衣房就是“laundry”。

“do the laundry” 才是英语中“洗衣服”的地道表达方式。

当然有时在英式英语中，也用“do the washing”表达“洗衣服”。
