二、重点知识点
1.by是介词，“通过某种方式”，文中表示方法、手段，后面可接名词、代词或动词ing.
其他意思：
（1）在….旁边：I live by the river.
（2）沿着，经由：come by the highway
（3）由于：by mistake
（4）被，由：some articles written by Lu Xun
（5）逐个：one by one
（6）乘、坐： by car
（7） 不迟于；在…之前：You should go back home by ten o’clock.
2. conversation 与have/ hold 连用时，要加不定冠词，但是与make连用时，不用加不定冠词。
hold/have conversations with 与 聊天
hold/have a conversation with与 聊天
make conversation 闲谈，搭讪
be in conversation with 在…谈话中
3. 提建议的表达方法
（1）Would you like (to do)…?Would you like to have dinner with me?
（2）What / How about (doing)…? How about going swimming on Saturday?
（3）Shall we (do)…? Shall we go to the park?
（4）Let’s (do)…Let’s go home.
（5）You’d better (do )… You’d better finish your homework by supper.
（6）Will you please (do )…? Will you please borrow me your book?
（7) Why not/Why don’t you (do)…？ Why not ask the teacher?

5. 句型“It is+adj.+(for sb)to do sth.'和“It is+adj.+(of sb)to do sth.'两个句型中
说人的用of sb. 说事的用for sb。
6. try to do 与 try doing辨析
try to do sth.设法做某事，尽力做某事; try to do侧重尽力，为了达到目的而努力。
try doing sth.试着做某事，试验做某事; try doing 只是一种新的尝试，并没有一定明显的目的性。
7. patient用法
adj.有耐心的，忍耐的；be patient with sb ；be patient to do sth

8. increase 用法
increase by 以什么速度增长……通常后面加百分数
increase to 意思是增长到……通常后面加的是增长到的结果
9. speed用法
n.迅速。速度；速率。at speed 高速地；at the speed of 以．．的速度
full speed 全速前进；竭尽全力=steam ahead
more hast, less speed 欲速则不达;speed up 加速
v.快速行进，疾行
10. active用法
active 的用法 其基本义为“活动的，活跃的，积极的”，可用作表语和定语
be active in意为“积极参加” ；若有了 active 的修饰，则要有 an： take an active part in .
11.pay attention to用法
pay attention to sth： Pay attention to state affairs
pay attention to doing sth ：Please pay attention to taking care of your baby.
12. connect用法
connect with是和……有关,和……有联系 的意思.
connect to 的意思是 把……连接到……
connect……to，接通（电源，电话等）
13. look for，find, find out辨析
look for意为“寻找”，强调找的动作，是延续性动词
find意为“找到、发现、感到”，强调找的结果，是非延续性动词
find out意为“查明、发现、了解”，指经过认真观察、调查或研究把某事、某物查出来、搞清楚，多用于复杂而不容易直接查出的情况。
