不久前，我有机会采访了“瑞典民谣精灵”创作型女歌手Sophie Zelmani 苏菲·珊曼妮。
Not long ago, I had the opportunity to interview the 'Swedish folk pixie' singer-song writer Sophie Zelmani.
干净利落的中长发、蓝色清澈见底般的眼睛、笑中透着腼腆和温暖、恬静寡淡却内心执着，这就是苏菲给我的第一印象。
My first impression of Sophie: clean-cut middle long hair, clear blue eyes, her face radiating with a somewhat shy and warm smile. She has this serene look about her, and you can feel her inner strength.
她抱着一把吉他，一写、一唱就是20多年。
She strums her guitar, writes and sings and it has been for more than 20+ years.
国外的媒体喜欢称苏菲为“瑞典民谣精灵”。“精灵”，这似乎听起来太过活泼亲切，我印象中的苏菲更加虚幻一点，温柔一点，听着她的歌，仿佛遇见了来自梦中的女神，喃喃细语；听着听着，时间仿佛慢了下来，只留下细微又耐看的变化。
Western media like to call Sophie the “Swedish folk pixie”. 'Pixie', this sounds a little too vivid and briskly for me. The feeling that Sophie creates is more illusory and gentle. Listening to her songs, you’d feel as if meeting a goddess from your dreams, murmuring softly. Time has slowed down, leaving only subtle and pleasant changes.
对于许多中国听众来说，对于苏菲·珊曼妮的最初印象来自王菲。
For many Chinese listeners, they first heard of Sophie from a song sung by Faye Wong.
2003年，王菲发行的专辑《将爱》中有一首颇受欢迎的作品《乘客》；“坐你开的车，听你听的歌，我们好快乐。第一盏路灯开了，你在想什么…”
In 2003, Faye Wong released the album 'To Love' and in it was a popular track 'Passenger': 'Having a ride in your car, listening to your songs, we are happy. The first street lamp is on, what are you thinking about...'
“平白的歌词、慵懒的唱腔、舒缓的节奏，坐在车里看窗外景物缓缓后退的画面感顿时呈现眼前。不加任何的刻意修饰，却足以令人过耳难忘。”
Plain lyrics, indolent-like singing and relaxed rhythm. It paints the image of one sitting in the car looking out at the scenery slowly retreating behind us. It is as simple as that, but enough to be memorable.
这首被无数人奉为经典的歌词，便翻唱自苏菲·珊曼妮的作品，《Going home》。
This song, which has been regarded as a Faye Wong classic by many, is a Chinese cover of Sophie Zelmani’s “Going Home”.
仔细听王菲的歌声和演唱风格，确实不难找到苏菲的影子。
Listening carefully to Faye Wong's singing and watching her style closely, it is indeed not difficult to see Sophie.
在舞台上唱歌时的苏菲从不害羞，“我喜欢站在舞台上那种不受打扰的感觉，唱我喜欢唱的歌，表达我想表达的情感，台下的观众就那样静静的听着。能在舞台上做自己，我觉得很舒服。”
Sophie has never been shy when singing on the stage. 'I like this feeling of not being disturbed when I am on the stage, just singing the songs I like to sing, expressing the emotions I want to express, and the audience listening quietly offstage. I can just be myself when I am on the stage.”
但是台下的苏菲却羞涩腼腆得像个小女孩 – 性格非常内向，说话声音很小，回答的时候话不多，不喜欢面对镁光灯，不喜欢面对镜头，几乎很少接受采访…
But offstage, Sophie is shy as a little girl - introverted, speaking extremely softly, not much to answer, disliking the limelight, the camera and rarely accepting interviews.
苏菲14岁那年，父亲的意外离世让她非常悲痛。当时，苏菲把自己关在小屋子里，用音符把内心的悲伤写在了5线谱上，写出了人生中的第一首歌。苏菲忽然发现，音乐能让自己慢慢地治愈。于是，以后每逢遇到不开心或者有事情想向人诉说的时候，苏菲就会用音乐协助自己寻找情感上的出口。
When Sophie was 14 years old, her father's accidental death made her very sad. At that time, Sophie locked herself up in a small room and wrote the first song in her life expressing her sad emotions. Sophie suddenly discovered that music is miraculous as it’s very healing. Since then, whenever Sophie feels unhappy or there is something she wants to share with others, Sophie would look to music as her outlet.
“我不是一个很擅长言辞的人，只好通过歌来表达。”
'I am not good with talking, so I express it through songs.'
17岁那年，苏菲爱上了学校里的一个男孩，并为他写了人生中第一首关于爱情的歌曲：《Always You》。后来，苏菲签约索尼音乐，这成为了公司帮她发行的第一首单曲，也是许多人认为的苏菲的成名曲。我问她，“这是你的初恋？”
At the age of 17, Sophie fell madly in love with a boy in school and wrote her first song about love: “Always You”. Later, Sophie signed with SONY music, and this song became the first single that the company released of her. It became an instant hit. So I asked her, 'is this your first love?'
苏菲说，“不算是。因为我们从来没有开始过。我当时只是单相思，我爱他但是他却不爱我，我从来没有得到过这个男孩。”
'No,' Sophie said. “Because we were never in a relationship. I loved him, but I don't think he loved me. I never got this boy. '
说这些话的时候，苏菲就这样淡淡的、脸上满是恬静的坐在那儿，看似波澜不惊。
When she uttered these words, Sophie seemed so nonchalantly, sitting there and her face full of tranquility.
或许，苏菲早已通过创作，将当时心中的“不得”抒发了，治愈了。
Perhaps, to Sophie, this has long gone and she has been healed, through her music creation.
的确，苏菲的音乐总能给人治愈的感觉。她喃喃自语般诉说这生命中的忧伤和温暖，却可以那么轻易地触及你心里的那个地方。
Indeed, Sophie's music always gives fans a sense of healing. She murmurs about the sadness and warmth in her life, the inevitable, and this could easily touch that soft spot in your heart.
这就是苏菲珊曼妮。
And this is Sophie Zelmani.
从1995至今的20多年间，苏菲共发行了十几张录音室专辑，一直保持着较为均匀的创作频率。
In the past 20 something years since 1995, Sophie has released more than ten studio albums, and has maintained a more uniform music creation frequency.
没有大起大落的惊涛骇浪，却也从不会因细水长流而令人乏味。
There are no big ups and downs in her music, but then they would never be boring and predictable.
有些音乐人创作需要依赖生命力，优秀的经典之作也许就产生于她们年轻时如上帝附体般的灵光一闪，日子一久，大多数人的创作慢慢褪去色彩。另外有一些人，创作对他们来说就如日常呼吸一般，在平凡细碎的日子里涓涓流淌，也许没有什么惊世之作，却可以一直写出、唱出好听的歌。
Some musicians when they create, they rely on their vitality, producing excellent classics as if a muse from heaven has spoken to them. But after a while, the colors of their works slowly fade away. There are still some others, to whom music creating is just like breathing, taking place unnoticeably everyday, every moment, and they would slowly but always come up with good songs like creek water trickling in.
喜欢苏菲的人会喜欢她的细水长流，不喜欢她的人会厌倦她的兜兜转转，但她只是拨弄琴弦，轻轻回应《I can't change》。
Those who love Sophie would love her style, which is like fresh creek water trickling in, little by little. Those who loathe her would find her murmuring tiresome. Sophie Zelmani however, just fiddles with the strings on her guitar, as if to respond: 'I can't change'.
