Chushu is one of the 24 solar terms in China. It happens on August 23 each year when the sun reaches thecelestial longitude of 150 degrees. At this point, the hot summer passes and heat stops. It is a tradition in China for people to eat ducks during Chushu. Duck is sweet and cool in nature that helps eliminate the heat in human body. There are various ways to cook ducks, which include sliced duck, lemon duck, ginger duck, roast duck, lotus leaf duck, and walnuts duck, etc. Beijing has retained this tradition; people usually buy Chushu Lily duck on that day.
