BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The State Electricity Regulatory Commission issued a statement on Friday demonstrating the structure of China's power-generating industry. Here are some related facts and figures:
- China has 20,991 power companies, about 76 percent of which are private companies.
- The companies' gross installed power-generating capacity currently stands at over 931 million kilowatts (kw), with state-owned enterprises accounting for 88 percent of the total capacity.
- China has 11,783 utility equipment contractors, 74 percent of which are private contractors.
