Jingdong Grand Canyon is definitely "on the radar" when it comes to Beijingers looking for a tourist destination within their reach. Its translated name alludes to America's Grand Canyon, which is admittedly a bit ridiculous. But Jingdong is nonetheless a lovely spot with its own character. It's rated a national AAA travel spot, which has its pros and cons. Pros: The canyon offers everything a canyon ought to, so steep, jagged rock faces abound. Cons: It has its touristy moments.
The typical Jingdong Grand Canyon experience is basically a big loop where visitors walk through the canyon to visit a series of pools, take a chairlift to the top of the mountain to check out some mountainous landscapes, and zoom down the mountain on a twisting and turning toboggan run.
