A doctor who declared a baby dead only for the boy to be found alive before he was due tobe cremated has had his license revoked and faces further punishment, health authoritiesin east China’s Anhui Province said yesterday.The baby is in a critical condition at the Anhui Provincial Children’s Hospital in Hefei andcould die at any time, hospital officials said.A team of experts has been set up to try their best to save the child’s life.The doctor, surnamed Zha, and the person in charge of the hospital’s neonatologydepartment will be given an administrative punishment, health authorities said.The baby was admitted to hospital on October 28, diagnosed with pneumonia, breathingproblems and brain injuries caused by his premature birth.Officials said his parents had decided there was no point in continuing treatment and hadleft him with the hospital.
