The prototype of world's most advanced third-generation streetcars rolled off theproduction line at Qingdao-based CSR Sifang in China on Monday. For the first time, thevehicle is driven by a permanent magnet motor and equipped with articulated bogie, whichare two world's leading technologies.
The vehicle has characteristics including efficiency and safety, low noise and low operationand maintenance cost. It is safe when turning sharp corners.
With a maximum operating speed of 70 km per hour, the streetcar is equipped withsystems including intelligent network control, video surveillance, emergency alarms andpassenger information.
