Blasts ripped through several chemical warehouses in east China's Wenzhou City onMonday, with casualties unknown, authorities said.
The explosion happened at around 2 p.m. in a chemical market on Niushanbei Road. Thewarehouses are mostly used for storing chemicals.
A tanker inside the market caught fire first and ignited the warehouses, according to a marketstaff.
"The chemicals are mainly methyl alcohol and benzene, and we heard several blasts," saidone worker in the market.
Fire fighters are still battling the fire.
