PrintIn order to protect themselves from sandstorm, Chinese peace-keeping soldiers stationed in Sudan turned their clothes into scarves and tied them up tight over their heads.
While being on duty at their posts, they also wore glasses to prevent sand from getting into their eyes. These Chinese soldiers, nicknamed “blue-helmet warriors,” suddenly became what’s called “CS Special Police Force” with such a unique headgear. Peacekeeping forces from other countries followed suit, turning such a uniform innovation into a fashion in their camps.
