Photo collector Luo Yong unveiled more than 20, 000 precious photos taken during the war on the occasion of the 70 the anniversary of the victory of China's Resistance War Against Japanese Aggression,China News Service reported.
These images reflect the history of Japanese incursions into northeast China in early 20th century; the July 7 incident of 1937, when Japanese troops attacked Lugou Bridge, which is also known as Marco Polo Bridge, a crucial access point to Beijing.
On Aug. 15, 1945, Japanese Emperor Hirohito announced that the country would surrender to the Allies, marking the end of China's Resistance War Against Japanese Aggression, as well as World War II.
The collection includes pictures and albums showing Japanese army’s crime, military officer’s daily life and social events. Many of them are only extant copies.
