Liu Yi, a post-90s girl with cerebral palsy in Rugao city, east China's Jiangsu Province, saw her autobiographical novel The Wings of Life published on August 4.
“The publication of the book is just the beginning. I will go further in the future,” said Liu Yi.
Suffering from congenital cerebral palsy, Liuyi, 21, dropped out after she graduated from middle school. Though she can’t live on her own, she has great interest in writing. Typing with the forefinger of her left hand, which was her only movable finger, she finished the 150,000 word autobiographical novel with strong willpower. (130,000 words in the published version after modification)
In November 2014, Liu Yi was given an exceptional admission to the Writers Association of Rugao city. Liu Yi said: “I’m very grateful that the book was finally published with the assistance of many people. I’d like to thank all of you with this book.”
