Applications are now being accepted for 269 affordable apartments across three buildings at a development on the Upper West Side known as Waterline Square. The trio of luxury high-rises is located between West 59th Street and West 61st Street on the Hudson River and contains a new 2.6-acre park. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 60 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, ranging from a $1,041/month studio to a $1,553/month three-bedroom. As 6sqft reported last week, construction at the five-acre waterfront site continues to wrap up.
An extensive amenity club connects the three buildings. Residents can enjoy an indoor tennis court, 25-meter lap pool and kiddie pool, full basketball court, 30-foot rock climbing wall, fitness center, children’s room, bowling alley, recording studio, an indoor gardening room, and more.
Designed by Richard Meier & Partners, One Waterline Square rises 37 stories and has an undulating glass and metal facade. The building contains 288 residences designed by Champalimaud Design and all have high ceilings and oversized windows.
Kohn Pedersen Fox’s Two Waterline Square has 38 stories and includes a mix of rental and for-sale residences. Rafael Viñoly designed Three Waterline Square, a 34-story 200-unit building surrounded by green space. And the first-ever Cipriani food hall will open at the development in a 28,000-square-foot space. The food hall will have a market and restaurants at Two Waterline Square.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable apartments at Waterline Square until December 6, 2018. Fifty percent of units are reserved for members of Manhattan Community Board 7.
