洛伊·霍洛韦尔，1983年出生于美国加州伍德兰，在加州大学圣巴巴拉分校获得学士学位，并且在弗吉尼亚联邦大学获得纯艺术硕士学位。

她以探索身体景观的绘画和素描而闻名，她的实践存在于抽象与具象、超凡脱俗与肉体之间的界限空间中。

画面中，起伏的山峦就像女性的身体曲线一样，是围绕太阳系运行的行星；深峡谷般的直线穿透力汇聚成加利福尼亚的风景，让人想起朱迪·芝加哥(Judy Chicago)那万花筒般的日出。

象征性的空间

在局部，亚麻面布上的高密度泡沫，比之全平面的画面，在视觉上来得更强烈。这些凸凹给霍洛韦尔的作品带来的影响，将她抽象的身体部位变成了有形状的形式，打破了传统的人物和背景的关系。

艺术家说:“我把我的作品看成是身体景观，通过最小化的语言形式，使其更具象征性的空间。”

独特的审美敏感性

几何构图

非同寻常的表现力

霍洛韦尔的实践与美国艺术家如 Agnes Pelton、Georgia O'Keeffe 和 Judy Chicago 的作品有着渊源。她也深受加州光与空间运动以及新密宗画家古拉姆·拉苏尔·桑托什 (Ghulam Rasool Santosh)和比伦·德( Biren De) 的影响。

2021年，展览：洛伊·霍洛韦尔：再校准在上海龙美术馆（西岸馆）举办，展期为：2021.4.24—2021.7.11。
