Dear Louise,
Thank you for your message. I really appreciate your interest. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I will be unable to give you sufficient answers to your questions. I can tell you Tian Liang was inducted into the 48th Class of Honorees at the International Swimming Hall of Fame Annual Induction Ceremony on May 12, 2012. I'm guessing Tian Liang and ISHOF President Wigo got to talking and Tian Liang probably felt proud of China's swimming heritage and wanted to make sure Wigo was aware of it. As for the archives, I can't tell you exactly how they were acquired. I think it's a mix of Chinese and English language, but more so English, I believe. Alas, enough time has passed already that I don't remember and don't have this information. The hall of fame obtained various historical records, newspaper articles and other artifacts through American swimmers, Chinese government officials and other people related to the world of swimming and the US-China relationship. That's pretty much all I can say.. I'm sorry I cannot be of more help.
Again, thank you for reaching out to me.
Sincere regards,
Caroline
