定义：形容词是指用来修饰名词或代词，表示人或事物的性质、状态及特征的词。

拓展：由名词和动词变化而来的形容词，见下表：

形容词的用法：

1.作定语：

（1）多数形容词放在名词前面，修饰人或事物，如： a smart boy/ an interesting book

（2）形容词修饰不定代词时，放在其后。

如： Is there anything wrong？/ I feel like doing something different this weekend.

（3）enough 作形容词时，放在被修饰的名词前后都可以。

如：They took enough food/food enough to last them a week. (他们带了足够一星期吃的食物。)

2.作表语：

形容词可以作表语，放在系动词后，构成“主语+系动词+表语”的句型。

如：Leaves turn yellow in autumn./ She looks unhappy, what happened？

3.复合宾语中作宾语补足语，用来说明宾语所处的状态或具有的性质、特征。

如：Who left the door open？/It made me sad.

4.作状语：

He spent seven days in the wind and snow，cold and hungry.（他又冷又饿地在风雪中过了七天。）

形容词比较级的用法：

1.as + 只能加原级 + as如：She is as tall as Peter. （ 她和Peter一样高。）

2. not so\as +只能加原级 + as 和......不一样 如：She is not so tall as Peter.（她不如Peter 高。）

3.even (甚至，更加)、 a little （一点点）、a bit（一点点）、much修饰比较级，very、 quite（ 相当）、pretty 、fairly只能修饰原级。

如：Mike is short, Peter is even shorter . Mike 很矮，Peter甚至还要矮

Mike is much taller than Jane . Mike比Jane高

How are you today ? --I am much better .

4. 二者比较用比较级，三个以上用最高级。

如：Who is taller，Peter or Mike ?

Which is the heaviest，an elephant，a bag or a pig ?

5. the more ,......the more 越......越......

如：The more careful you are，the few mistakes you will make .

6. more and more 越......越......

如：Our life is getting better and better .

7. 副词最高级前可以不要the.

如：Whoruns fastest, Jane，Peter or Mike ? 谁跑的最快，Jane ,Peter or Mike ?
