一般来说，英语的及物动词才能带宾语。但是，在英语的一些形容词的结构中，这些形容词似乎是可以带宾语的。
这是很有用，很好用的英语结构，因为，它们跟汉语是差不多的。
我们先看看下面的例子：
I am afraid he won’t come.
我恐怕他不会来了。【英汉的结构差不多】
am afraid【be afraid】 可以被看成是一个及物动词，带宾语从句he won’t come.
不过，这种结构只能带宾语从句，要带名词，必须加介词，比如of.
例如：
I am afraid the dog.[错]
I am afraid of the dog.
类似的形容词，例子组成一个故事：
1.glad 高兴
“I am glad 【that】you have come.”said my brother.
“我很高兴你已经来了。”哥哥说。
2.proud 骄傲
I am proud that we can arrive in time
我很骄傲，我们能及时到达。
3.sorry 难过
I am sorry that we were often late,
我感到难过，我们以前经常迟到。
4.satisfied 满意
But our brother will be satisfied that we are often late.
但是，我们的哥哥会很满意我们经常迟到
5.happy
He is happy that when we are late we pay for the meal.
他很高兴当我们迟到了我们就会给饭菜买单。
6.sure
We are sure our brother will be upset this time.
我们敢保证这一次我们兄弟会撕心裂肺的。
7.surprised
But we are surprised that he only smile to us.
8.Sure
He may be sure he will win
他可能肯定他会胜利的。
9.certain
He must be certain that we have taken enough money
他一定很肯定我们已经带来了足够的钱。
10.ashamed
I feel ashamed that I don’t know what my brother is thinking.
我感到羞愧我不知道哥哥在想些什么鬼。
11.anxious
I am anxious that he will do something.
我很担心他会搞鬼的。
12.aware
I am aware that we have to pay this time.
我意识到这一次我们还得付钱。
13.annoyed
We don’t feel annoyed that he is laughing at us.
我们没有因为他在嘲笑我们而感到恼怒。
14.confident
We pretend to be confident that we have done something right
我们装出很出很自信的样子，我们已经走了一步好棋。
15.convinced
We are convinced that， in fact， our brother is laughing himself
我们相信实际上我们哥哥在嘲笑自己。
16.disappointed
However，we get disappointed that we are fooling ourselves.
然而，我们很很失望啊，我们在愚弄自己！
17.determined
Our brother is determined that he should teach us something.
我们的哥哥下决心要给我们教训了。
18.thankful
We are thankful that our brother wakes us up.
但是我们很感激的，哥哥把我们叫醒了.
19.worried
We are worried that we will be late again and we will pay for it again,
我们很担忧我们会再次迟到，而且还会为此付出代价啊！
