美国有一套书叫作《你的N年级孩子应该知道什么》，很受欢迎。虽然学校的老师不一定完全按照它上面的内容讲授，但大体上反映了学校里应该学到的东西了。一般开学时老师会建议家长买这本书，然后配合学校辅导。这套书有给学前班、一年级、二年级、三年级、四年级、五年级这些年级的。
比如，一年级的书名就是'What Your First Grader Needs to Know'。
包括6个大类目
语言和文学、历史和地理、视觉艺术、数学、音乐、科学。
我们小学一年级课表大致也有这么多类，语数外音乐美术等，但是每个大类目下分的小类目真的是差距太大。
国外一年级的语言和文学已经涵盖了诗歌戏剧等高深的内容，且要求的阅读量超高。国内的语文课本只是简单地学一些拼音、词语等很基本的内容。
历史和地理差别就更加明显了，国外一年级历史已经涵盖世界史了，而中国貌似初中才开始学世界史。
视觉艺术外国教学是一个系统的过程，通过线条来画图形肖像等，我们一年级小朋友应该是乱涂乱画，随意发挥自己的“才能”。
再说科学和音乐，音乐已经开始包括爵士乐、歌剧，科学的涵盖范围更广生物化学物理等等全部都有讲，而且讲的很细，连星座都有。这么多知识，够我学整个初高中了（生无可恋脸）。
