Setting Parameter 15.41 using the Commander SK Keypad

Parameter 15.41 in the SM-Profibus DPV1 module represents the Network Compatibility Mode setting.  In order to use the Extended Diagnostics functionality of Profibus DPV1, the Network Compatibility Mode (Pr 15.41) must be set to value of 3.  This represents a bit of a challenge since the parameter cannot be modified using CTSoft version 1.13.0 or earlier.  The parameter value must be modified using the keypad on the front of the drive.  For the Commander SK, there is no direct access to Pr 15.41.  Therefore, an indirect access method must be used to change the value of Pr 15.41.  The procedure below lists the steps necessary to modify the Network Compatibility Mode parameter using the keypad:

(1)   Press the M button on the Commander SK keypad to go into parameter view mode.

(2)   Navigate to parameter 71 using the up/down arrow buttons on the Commander SK keypad.

(3)   Press the M button on the Commander SK keypad to go into parameter edit mode.

(4)   Set parameter 71 to a value of 15.41.  (The result of this step is that you will then be able to edit the value of Pr 15.41 using parameter 61 on the keypad)

(5)   Press the M button on the Commander SK keypad to exit parameter edit mode.

(6)   Reset the drive using the Reset button on the keypad.

(7)   Navigate to parameter 61 using the up/down arrow buttons on the Commander SK keypad.

(8)   Press the M button on the Commander SK keypad to go into parameter edit mode.

(9)   Set parameter 61 to a value of 3.

(10) Press the M button on the Commander SK keypad to exit parameter edit mode.

(11) Reset the drive using the Reset button on the keypad.

(12) Reinitialize the SM-Profibus module using Pr 15.32.  This must be done from the CTSoft commissioning software.
