“开门见山”不是open door see mountain, 别再乱翻译啦！

那么问题来了，“开门见山”用英语该怎么说呢？有同学可能说，那不就是open door see mountain嘛~

如果真要是这么翻译，可就闹大笑话啦~

正确的表达应该是cut to the chase~

Cut to the chase:

To talk about or deal with the important parts of a subject and not waste time with things that are not important.

谈论或处理一个话题的重要部分，不把时间浪费在不重要的事情上。

也可以翻译成“直奔主题、有话直说”，一起来看两个例句吧：

I didn't have long time to talk, so I cut to the chase and asked whether she was married.

我时间有限，所以就开门见山地问她是否已婚。

要表达同样的意思，我们还可以用这个短语：get straight to the point.

在美剧《生活大爆炸》中，Sheldon几个人发现了一枚“魔戒”，并打算卖掉后平分利益，此时Raj请来的律师说：

I'll get straight to the point. My client's prepared to surrender any interest he has in the ring in exchange for two Kawasaki Jet Skis.
