《离家500里》和《500英里》一样经典，但游子心情更酸楚

1963 年，乡村歌手 Bobby Bare (巴比.贝尔)在退伍后重返歌坛，特别把上一篇推送的《500 Miles》这首歌，填上新的歌词，改编为《Five Hundred Miles Away from Home》。

歌词描述一个一事无成的异乡游子打算回家，却因为身无分文，只能一路靠著好心人搭载，没有便车可搭的时候，只能坐在路边等待，一边反覆的阅读著母亲的家书，已经过了好多天，如今距离家乡却还有遥远的五百里。歌曲推出后，获得全美第十名，也打动了更多听众的心。有趣的是，虽然歌词的内容跟事实并非完全相同，却带有些许自传的色彩。

不管是《500 Miles》还是《Five Hundred Miles Away from Home》，这首歌始终深获喜爱，早已成为不朽经典。两者由于内容不尽相同，各有不同的动人之处，不过从描述异乡游子落魄心情的角度来看，巴比贝尔改编的版本显然是略胜一筹的。
