1960年5月18日出生于哈尔滨市，现工作生活于北京

1988年毕业于中央戏剧学院舞台美术系设计专业，获学士学位

北京美术家协会会员,美国肖像画协会会员

王沂东谈王剑的绘画

王剑是一个沉静的人，他的作品笼罩在一种戏剧性的氛围中，这得益于他在中央戏剧学院学习过的经历。在一个张扬个性的时代，王剑通过自己的绘画语言来寻找一种属于永恒的品性。

同样，在他的作品中你可以发现多重精神的叠加：西方审美的平衡和东方文化的情结以及对于美好事物的人文主义情怀。对这些情感的追思和提炼，在他运用纯熟的油画透明画法和直接画法的笔触中得以完美的表达。他没有简单追求时代的特征，而是着眼于作品要表达的审美意味。

艺术确实不是技巧，但是必须通过技巧来表达。绘画若不能驾驭与调动绘画要素，不能摸透绘画特性所具有的妙处，还能谈得上什么表现水准吗？执着地坚守风格，执着地沉醉在多种绘画材料表现力的探索中。

这就是王剑，一个执着且深爱着艺术的画家。
