课程简介

多能源系统(MES)是集成多种能源的载体和系统(如电、热、冷、燃气、交通、水等),与能源互联网概念密切相关。本课程将从技术、环境和社会经济角度全面介绍多能源系统的建模、分析和优化。

 

课程目标 Course Objectives

#1: Understand the concepts and underlying techno-economic and environmental motivations for developing multi-energy systems (MES)

#2: Learn how to build simulation models for multi-energy demand, generation and networks

#3: Learn how to build operational optimization models for MES at different scales (homes, buildings, districts, distribution networks, transmission networks, whole-systems)

#4: Understand the concept and importance of flexibility in a multi-energy context

#5: Identify potential opportunities and assess constraints to develop business cases for MES

#6: Learn how to build models to derive optimal investment strategies for MES considering uncertainties

 

教学大纲 Course Description

Multi-Energy Systems (MES) envisage the integrationof multiple energy vectors and systems (e.g., electricity, heat, cooling, gas,transport, water, etc.), so as to obtain the so-called “energy internet”. Thiscourse provides a comprehensive introduction to the modelling, analysis andoptimization of MES from technical, environmental and socio-economicperspectives.

The material presented will be based on theresearch and teaching activities carried out by Prof Mancarella over the lastten years within the context of several UK, European, Australian andinternational projects, and while teaching at the University of Manchester, UK,and at the University of Melbourne, Australia.

The topics that will be covered include:

1、Background: the energy trilemma; drivers for changes; motivation for and definition of  MES; distributed MES; the “energy internet”; energy systems integration

2、Distributed multi-generation modelling (cogeneration, trigeneration, polygeneration, etc.): technical, economic and environmental parameters

3、Multi-energy residential and commercial load modelling; high-resolution spatial and temporal demand characterization

4、Building and home energy management systems; automated demand response under comfort and power constraints

5、Optimal energy management of district energy systems: linear and nonlinear formulations of multi-generation energy hubs

6、Integrated multi-vector energy flow analysis of electricity, heat, gas, and water networks; extended Newton-Raphson and other algorithms

7、Multi-vector “optimal power flow”: “software-in-the-loop” optimization and sequential programming

8、Flexibility, demand response and virtual energy storage in MES

9、Ancillary services and grid services provision from distributed MES

10、Business cases for smart communities, multi-energy microgrids, and distributed MES

11、Planning under uncertainty of distributed MES: flexible expansion, real options, risk-constrained planning, decision theory models

12、Multi-energy active network management

13、Integrated electricity-heat-gas transmission system operation modelling (steady-state and transient analysis)

14、System level modelling and assessment of power-to-X options

15、Challenges ahead in MES modelling and development

16、Markets, commercial, regulatory and policy issues

Specific case studyexamples, a list of key publications, and recently developed modelling toolswill be presented and illustrated.

 

 

教师简介


Pierluigi Mancarella是澳大利亚墨尔本大学的讲座教授(Chair ofElectrical Power Systems),同时是曼彻斯特大学的兼职教授。Pierluigi Mancarella曾在意大利都灵理工大学获得电力系统硕士和博士学位,曾在帝国理工学院担任研究助理,曾作为访问学者在Sintef/NTNUNREL等多个机构担任研究工作。在过去的10年里,Pierluigi Mancarella曾参与或领导英国、欧洲、澳大利亚大约50个研究项目,专注于分布式能源系统、多能源集成系统,不确定性分析等研究领域。Pierluigi Mancarella曾参与多部专著的撰写与编辑,指导并撰写了250多篇研究论文和报告。Pierluigi Mancarella是多本国际期刊的编辑,包括IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, InternationalJournal of Electrical Power and Energy Systems等。
