英语口语：“搭顺风车”，“我捎你一段路”用英语怎么说？

今天，我们学习一个可能不太常用到的英语表达：

1. Can I have a lift?

中文是“可以搭个顺风车吗？”

问题是：英语是什么？能中英文都能说，左右开弓，我们的英语口语才算“厉害”：

When we say Can I have lift, we are asking/we are requesting for a ride in someone's car. It means：

Would you please give me a ride (in your car)?

这就是“搭顺风车”的“英语意思”，也算是“英语口语”。

Example：

If you're going to that part of town, can I have a lift?

搭顺风车只是“顺路车”，不一定是a free ride(免费的)，所以我们还说：

I'll give you money for gas/gasoline/petrol.

2. I will give you a lift

中文是“我可以捎带你一程”。英语呢？

When we say I can give you a lift, it means I can give you a ride in my car. I'll provide transportation,or a seat for you in my car.

注意：to carpool is different from to take a lift.
