陈述句Declarative Sentences，是陈述一个事实或者说话人的看法。陈述句又分为肯定的陈述句和否定的陈述句，简称为肯定句-The Affirmative Sentence和否定句-The Negative Sentence。

Step1：陈述句的核心就是一个主语和谓语，不要被句子的长短所迷惑。

At its core, the declarative sentence is very basic. There is a noun and a verb in the sentence. The sentence can have other elements, such as adjectives, adverbs and other words. But the simplest form is just a noun and verb.
陈述句的核心是非常基础的。这个句子里有一个名词和一个动词。句子可以有其他成分，如形容词、副词和其他词。但是最简单的形式就是名词和动词。

主语+连系动词 + 表语
主语+谓语（不及物动词）
主语+谓语（及物动词）+ 宾语
主语+谓语（及物动词）+ 间接宾语 + 直接宾语
主语+谓语（及物动词）v.+宾语+ 宾语补足语

例如：

简单陈述句：

I ate a hot dog.

复杂陈述句：

The dog in the neighbor's yard is barking.

The movie represented women in a positive light, particularly in the main female character defused the bomb in the car.

这部电影以积极的态度表现了女性，尤其是女主角拆除了汽车里的炸弹。

句子分析:

主语：The movie
谓语：represented （表现，反映）
宾语：women
补语：in a positive light（用积极的态度或用正面的角度）
从句：particularly in the main female character defused the bomb in the car.
副词：particularly，当陈述某一事实之后，进一步举代表性的例子进行强调时使用。
从句主语：he main female character 女主角
从句谓语：defused 使出去危险，平息

step2：确定你想要传达的思想，去掉多余的短语和动词。

The cat sits on the mat.猫坐在垫子上。

step3：使用主动语态，用少数词传递大量信息。

Use the active voice. The active voice is a style that directly conveys information. It uses descriptive verbs that gives the reader substantial information in few words.
主动语态是一种直接传递信息的语体。它使用描述性动词，用几个词向读者提供大量信息。

注意：相比之下，被动语态依赖于“is”或“was”这样的词，其传递信息的方式不那么直接。陈述句仍然可以用被动语态，但是陈述句的重点是直接明了，所以主动语态更可取。

例如：

主动语态：John washed the dishes.

被动语态：the dishes are washed by John.

使用and，让句子信息更丰富

step4:使用“and”连接两个语句，写出复杂的陈述句

A declarative sentence doesn’t need to be a simple sentence.Create a more complex statement that conveys more information. Build upon one idea by using the word “and” to join it with more information. Include a comma before “and.”
陈述句不必是简单句。创建一个传达更多信息的更复杂的语句。在一个想法的基础上，使用单词“and”将其与更多信息连接起来。在“and”前面加逗号。

例如：

I caught a fish.
I threw it back into the water.
I caught a fish, and I threw it back into the water.

step5：用分号写出更复杂的句子。

Another way to build upon the idea in your declarative sentence is to use a semi-colon. This creates another clause in your sentence, or a related idea that contributes more information to the message you’re conveying.
另一种建立在陈述句思想基础上的方法是使用分号。这会在你的句子中创建另一个从句，或者一个相关的概念，为你所传达的信息提供更多的信息。

例如：

Mary had a little lamb.
Its fleece was white as snow
Mary had a little lamb; its fleece was white as snow.

step6：用过渡词连接两个观点。

A transition word, known as a conjunction, links two ideas that are related. They can be used to build upon an idea, or they can be used to contrast an idea. Examples of transition words or phrases include: “however,” “in fact,” “nevertheless,” “moreover,” and “besides.”
过渡词，即连接词，将两个相关的概念联系起来。它们可以用来建立一个想法，也可以用来对比一个想法。

常用过渡词：

however
in fact
nevertheless
moreover
besides

例如：

I am moving to a new house next week;
in fact,
I'm buying my first house.

I've gotten used to sleeping outside when I go camping;
however,
I really like sleeping in a feather bed.
我已经习惯了野营时睡在外面;然而，我其实真的喜欢睡在舒适的床上。

注意：此处a feather bed，我认为，不宜翻译为羽绒床垫。
