Step1.Lead in
Ask the students what they have learned
Ask all the class to recite the letters from a—r
Use the real things to ask
What’s this in English? It’s a jacket…….
Take turns to do the duty report .Do 2a 2b 2c and 2d with the whole class.
Step2.Pair work
Do the guess game .Ask students to work in pairs to practice like following .
T: Excuse me, what’s this in English in your bag?
S: Is it a pen?
T: Yes , you are right . What color is it ?
S: It’s white .
T: You are wrong . S: Is it red?......
Give them enough time to practice the drills and the teacher will give their help .
Step 3.Presentation
Choose a few pairs to act out their dialogues
Give them a lot of praises
Step4.Play a game
Do the color change game, use two small cups of water ,color each cup of water blue and yellow, ask:
What color is it ? It’s blue.
What color is it ? It’s yellow.
After asking, pour the blue water into the other cup. When the water turns green ask What color is it now?
Do the color changes with the other colors
Yellow +red =orange. Yellow + red + black = brown
Yellow + red +black +blue , etc.
Step5.Homework
Practice writing the letters
From A-R including big capital and small .For ten times
Also copy useful drills
What’s this in English? It’s v.
What color is it? It ’red.
