我就读过的学校

路过从小就读的学校

心想：此地，我晓之桑榆

昧于东隅。一生中，对未知事物的爱恋，

全都扑了空。我满腹经纶，

洞悉知识之树的繁花，

叶子的状貌，根系的功能，害虫和寄生虫。

我是善与恶植物学的专家，

现如今还在钻研，我会持久钻研，直至生命的终结。

我站在学校附近向里张望。这间是我们

坐过、学习过的教室。教室的窗户总是开向

未来，但我们天真地以为，那单单是窗外

看去的风景。

校园逼仄，巨石铺路。

我回想起摇摇晃晃的台阶旁

我们俩内心短暂的骚动，骚动

是伟大初恋的开始。

现如今它比我们活得还久，好似存放在某个博物馆里，

一如耶路撒冷城内其余的一切。

The School Where I Studied

Yehuda Amichai

I passed by the school where I studied as a boy

and said in my heart: here I learned certain things

and didn't learn others. All my life I have loved in vain

the things I didn't learn. I am filled with knowledge,

I know all about the flowering of the tree of knowledge,

the shape of its leaves, the function of its root system, its pests and parasites.

I'm an expert on the botany of good and evil,

I'm still studying it, I'll go on studying till the day I die.

I stood near the school building and looked in. This is the room

where we sat and learned. The windows of a classroom always open

to the future, but in our innocence we thought it was only landscape

we were seeing from the window.

The schoolyard was narrow, paved with large stones.

I remember the brief tumult of the two of us

near the rickety steps, the tumult

that was the beginning of a first great love.

Now it outlives us, as if in a museum,

like everything else in Jerusalem.

胡达·阿米亥（Yehuda Amichai，1924-2000）是公认的以色列当代最伟大的诗人，也是二十世纪最重要的国际诗人之一。先后出版了《诗：1948-1962》《现在风暴之中，诗：1963-1968》《时间》等十余部诗集。阿米亥在欧美诗坛上具有较大的影响，诗作被译成数十种文字，罗伯特·奥尔特（Robert Alter）甚至说，他是自《圣经》时代的大卫王以来，被翻译最多的希伯来语诗人。
