After you dump your trash, it doesn’t just sit in the garbage can. People have to collect the waste and move it to landfills. There, people sort the waste and d__1__ whether to burn, bury or recycle it. It t__2__ lots of time and work for many people. So if we can sort our garbage before t__3__ it away, we can make a big difference.
Each year, China p__4__ around 300 million tons of garbage. Less than a quarter of the waste is recycled. Most garbage is buried in landfills or burned w__5__ being sorted. Landfills take up a lot of space in cities. It can also pollute the nearby soil and water.
